SITUATION
Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA), a nonprofit in San Francisco, was planning its first annual board-staff retreat with two primary objectives – for board and staff to get to know each other and MEDA’s programs through an interactive process. This nonprofit called on Chrysalis to plan and facilitate the retreat based on the company’s proven facilitation skills and expertise in the nonprofit asset building field.

SOLUTION
Chrysalis created a process that creatively engaged board and staff and deepened their knowledge of each other and the organization.

SITUATION
After restructuring its asset-building service delivery model to include financial coaching as a central component in the model, Community Housing Works, a nonprofit in San Diego, needed to orient and train all staff and partners in the coaching philosophy, coaching skills, and integration of coaching into their work with clients. Based on its experience of training financial coaches on a national level, the nonprofit hired Chrysalis to design and facilitate a customized training. 

SOLUTION
Chrysalis delivered a practical and interactive training where staff and partners used financial coaching techniques and tools and learned how to integrate the coaching philosophy, framework, and skills into their work with clients in asset-building programs.

SITUATION
Tax-Aid, a nonprofit in San Francisco that provides free tax preparation services to low-income households, was curious about adding financial coaching to its work. As part of its exploration process, the organization hired Chrysalis and a partner firm, Sage Financial Solutions, to learn more about financial coaching and decide how to proceed.

SOLUTION
Chrysalis and Sage researched and presented existing financial coaching programs and facilitated a decision-making process that resulted in the creation of a new financial coaching pilot for the organization.
